In June of 2022, I took my first post-pandemic trip to Clarinda, Iowa, the hometown of bandleader and trombonist Glenn Miller to compete in the Glenn Miller Big Band Scholarship Competition. I was honored to receive the 1st place Ray Eberle Vocal Scholarship, presented by Ray’s daughter, Jan.
In February of 2023, I was invited back to the Glenn Miller Birthplace Society and Museum in Clarinda to perform for their annual fundraising gala.
