My original musical, “The Dream Department,” is about a young boy named Theo and the 90s boy band working in his mind to create and manufacture his dreams. Theo, who has been diagnosed with narcolepsy, has recently moved to a new town with his mom to take care of his elderly grandpa with early-onset Alzheimer’s, is having trouble fitting in, and wishes that his real life could be as wonderful as the dream world in his mind. “The Dream Department” was workshopped in Benj Pasek and Justin Paul’s Songwriting for Musical Theatre Class and selected as a finalist for The Dramatists Guild Foundation’s National Fellows Program.
